Jeremy Piper : Colorado Yeti Do not believe it if anyone tells you the Yeti are overhyped. They are who we thought they were.
Mary Moore : Colorado Yeti They are well coached. I am sure head coach Jeffrey Diaz has them prepared for this game. He makes great offensive adjustments. Defensively he makes great adjustments. This will either be wildly entertaining or a dull grind. I see no middle between the two.
Jim Nox : Yellowknife Wraiths Really this could go either way, but you will never get me to admit it.
Darren Francis : Colorado Yeti For this game, my gut tells me that you have to look at this SS named Mary Marie. I expect everyone knows this guy will be a wrecking ball.
Silverbacks lost. Silverbacks blames coaching.Reginald Hammerfall was angry about the game against Johnnie Hsu. Moreover, he denied that the players were at fault. Reginald Hammerfall - RB was clearly upset in the Silverbacks loss. 'We learned a lot. We learned a lot about our coaches. We realized that there is a reason we are losing. I am not sure what Johnnie Hsu saw in his preparation, but he has to do a better job at Head Coach', the RB said.Week 1: RB Kit Fisto (SJS) wins Offensive Player of the WeekThe honor comes after Fisto's 10 att, 57 yds, 0 TD performance against the New Orleans Secondline. ASFC ASFC: New Orleans Secondline with 11 votes (Runner up: San Jose SaberCats with 5 votes)
NSFC NSFC: Osaka Kaiju with 9 votes (Runner up: Baltimore Hawks with 7 votes)Game of the Week: Yellowknife Wraiths at Baltimore HawksOur Expert Predictions:
Jeremy Piper : Yellowknife Wraiths For this match up, I think a good bet is that Mo Gago is going to have a field day. He is among the better DT's in the league. He will have a great day and be critical in this game.
Mary Moore : Yellowknife Wraiths Surely, the Wraiths win. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.
Jim Nox : Baltimore Hawks This may be a pivotal game for their season.
Darren Francis : Baltimore Hawks I really think their defense will make the difference. This is going to be a very viewer friendly game.
'I am better than Hahalua' Leo Simon Schwartz', says Oops All-ProDT Oops All-Pro had words of praise for himself in a recent interview. 'I am one of the best DTs in the game', he said. Oops All-Pro brings up Leo Simon Schwartz every chance he gets, it seems. 'Is he faster than me? nah. Look at the tape, once the pads come on he slows down. Sure, he is good and he may even be as good as me some day.' The Copperheads DT said. Certainly such words will set the internet forums on fire, and it will be interesting to see if Leo Simon Schwartz takes the bait and responds.FB I I (N/A) has retired!FB I I (37 ovr) has retired after failing to get signed in free agency.Post Free Agency RetirementsThe following players have retired after going unsigned through free agency:G Pisang Raja (BOT) (N/A) has retired!G Pisang Raja (BOT) (83 ovr) has retired after failing to get signed in free agency.DE I I (N/A) has retired!DE I I (48 ovr) has retired after failing to get signed in free agency.FS I I (N/A) has retired!FS I I (56 ovr) has retired after failing to get signed in free agency.QB I I (COL) goes #1 overall!NEW YORK -- The Colorado Yeti drafted I I #1 overall in the 2065 draft. The 6' 2" QB fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Yeti general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."
"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," I said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."Moore and Nox Mock DraftPick 1: Colorado Yeti Larry Moore: Dillon Cowell - QB Should be able to take in a pro playbook. Coaches do not have to worry about making him throw any route. His arm is good, but not great... yet! He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.
Jim Nox: Charlie Kearney - T Strong enough to play with the pros. In the run game he blocks well, shows tenacity and opens lanes. This will benefit the team. Fast learner. Fill a need, get a quality player, everyone wins! He will fit right in with the pros.
Pick 2: Orange County Otters Larry Moore: Benjamin Peacock - DT He is driven by the love of the sport. Will flatten smaller offensive linemen and go toe to toe with bigger ones. Is sufficiently fast to stay on the field against the pass. That is important if you are going to draft a guy this early. Fans might not be on board with what can be framed as a need pick. But trust me once they see this kid play, they will be more than happy.
Jim Nox: Benjamin Peacock - DT He is driven by the love of the sport. His strength gives him a chance against the big boys in the pros. Is sufficiently fast to stay on the field against the pass. That is important if you are going to draft a guy this early. He fills a need for them. Great pick here.
Pick 3: Berlin Fire Salamanders Larry Moore: Victor Knoll - G Coaches love the leadership skills in this kid. This kid breeds synergy, teams play better when he is on the field. Driving up his value is his ability to block on run plays. Teams need kids who can hold their own against fully grown men. Displays nice technique when blocking on pass plays. Keeps his balance and buys time for the quarterback. They almost have to make this pick. You do not want to look back in five years and see this kid on another team knowing he could have been yours.
Jim Nox: Victor Knoll - G A leader on the field and in the locker room. Football is a team sport, and he knows it. Driving up his value is his ability to block on run plays. Teams need kids who can hold their own against fully grown men. He has shown in college he can hold his own in pass blocking. He keeps good leverage and will only get better once the coaches get their hands on him. People always say you should not prioritize needs over quality. That is not an issue here, they get to have their cake and eat it too.
Pick 4: Honolulu Hahalua Larry Moore: John Nance - G This kid is not afraid to work hard. Respected for his good behavior on the field. Well liked in the locker room. Was among the stronger offensive linemen in college. Pass blocking against professional players makes for a difficult transition from college. But the tape indicates he will do well in that regard. Nice instincts. They gotta be happy to get this guy. Such a talent and he fits their needs. I would imagine the war room is celebrating when they make this pick.
Jim Nox: Wesley McCauley - LB Respected for his good behavior on the field. Amazing speed for the position. Defensive coordinators dream about having this speed coming of the edge. Smart player. Good understanding of how plays develop, and where to be. He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.
Pick 5: New York Silverbacks Larry Moore: Wesley McCauley - LB Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. So fast. You could drop him into coverage if you wanted. If you miss your block on this guy, he will be in the face of the QB before he has even finished dropping back. Fast learner. Rock solid player is just what they need. A great fit here, both in terms of need and quality.
Jim Nox: Silas Martinez - DE The guy has his head on straight. Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. Known for being a bit of a joker in the locker room. but in the good way, everyone smiles when asked about him. It is not often that the talent available fits perfectly with what you need. When it does, it makes for a win-win situation. This young man is going to be put in a position to succeed.
Pick 6: Cape Town Crash Larry Moore: Michael Lashley - C Here you have a kid who puts in the work to succeed. Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. This is a young man who will bench press a Defensive Tackle, and not a small one! He comes of the line with power and leverage on run plays. This is something that scouts notice. Smart player. Good understanding of how plays develop, and where to be. Fits nicely with their needs. Fits nicely with the draft spot. Getting it right is important with these early picks. This guy is right.
Jim Nox: Michael Lashley - C This kid puts in the work. He is driven by the love of the sport. With this guy on the team, they will have to buy extra weights. He is just that strong. Nice blocking skills on run plays. He will contribute to the running game. He is a smart kid, and it shows when he plays. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.
Pick 7: Austin Copperheads Larry Moore: Andre Beauchamp - CB Incredible speed. Drives up his value. you can never have enough speed in your defensive backfield. They will be happy to get him, they could use an upgrade at the position, and he certainly fits the bill. A franchise caliber player. Just what they have been looking for.
Jim Nox: Andre Beauchamp - CB That speed will make for incredible highlights. They need players at the position, and good ones at that. He fits the bill, he is worth the pick. End of story.
Pick 8: Osaka Kaiju Larry Moore: Sam Enos - C Reacts with good instincts. Rock solid player is just what they need. A great fit here, both in terms of need and quality.
Jim Nox: Sam Enos - C Understands the game well. Knows what to do in different situations. Are there other guys worth picking here? Sure, but none of them fit this well with what they need, and he is a solid talent.
Pick 9: Sarasota Sailfish Larry Moore: Charles Dejesus - DT Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. While not the strongest kid we have seen, his strength is an asset. It gives him the platform to be a great player. Good jump off the line. Enough speed to be unpredictable in his passrushing moves. Rock solid player is just what they need. A great fit here, both in terms of need and quality.
Jim Nox: Charles Dejesus - DT Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. Can maintain his leverage and shed blocks. Not incredibly strong, but enough power that he rarely ends up on his back. Coaches are not worried about his forty time. He plays fast and will chase down the QB reliably when he get penetration. The stars align for them to get him here. Just what they need. Blue-chip player with great upside. Hard to botch this pick.
Pick 10: San Jose SaberCats Larry Moore: Douglas Allen - SS Works well in the classroom. You need him, just get him already.
Jim Nox: Richard Dodson - DE Has developed nice strength for being this early in his career. Reliable tackler. His college teammates all point to how smart he is. With this kid, this is a need pick they will not regret.
