NEW YORK -- The Arizona Outlaws' QB was a landslide winner Friday in balloting by a nationwide panel of 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the league. Draxel won the MVP award by amassing season totals of 228/444, 2858 yds, 20 TD.

"I really accept this award on behalf of the team and the organization because there is no way I would have accomplished this much without everyone creating a winning environment," Draxel said after receiving the award.

NEW YORK -- The Arizona Outlaws' QB took home the 2016 Playoff MVP award today. Draxel won the award by amassing playoff totals of 39/69, 454 yds, 2 TD.

LB Harrif Ernston (ARI) wins Defensive Player of the Year!

NEW YORK -- In his own view, Harrif Ernston put together his best professional season in 2016. How appropriate, then, that he is The Associated Press 2016 Defensive Player of the Year.

The versatile Ernston had 85 tackles, 12 sacks, 1 interceptions, and 3 forced fumbles with 0 defensive touchdowns, and was a key to the Outlaws' turnaround on defense. His role on the defense earned Ernston a majority of votes Tuesday from a nationwide panel of 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the league.

QB Vincent Draxel (ARI) wins Offensive Player of the Year!

Arizona Outlaws quarterback Vincent Draxel is Sporting News' Offensive Player of the Year, as selected by a panel of 636 players, coaches and executives.

Draxel received 299 first-place votes from the 583 players polled.

Draxel in 2016 had 2858 yards and 20 TDs, with only 14 interceptions for a QB Rating of 73.6.

RB John Riddle (Ove) goes #1 overall!

NEW YORK -- The Overland Park Owls drafted John Riddle #1 overall in the 2016 draft. The 5' 11" RB fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Owls general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Riddle said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."
